The purchase process and shipping was great. The decals on the wheels had bubbles throughout. I ended up having to remove all the decals because of the bubbles and peeling. I contacted Adam, who helped with with purchase, by email but never received a response. Poor follow up communication causes me to doubt and disbelieve any warranty promise.

Absolutly perfect

These wheels ( 5.6) are very responsive when you need to put the power down! They are fast and handle superbly! I've put thousands of miles on them and they never dissapoint! Not to mention they look great, especially in white trim!
Charles B.
I was excited to receive my Epic 5.6 and rushed them to my bike shop for installation. After picking the completed bike up I took it for my favorite climbing route. On the 1st decent I noticed a rubbing sound from the rear that in increased...and decided to limp home. Back at the bike shop the owner used th truing stand to check if it was out of true...to my dismay he reported a bulge in the carbon layup and advised me to get them back to Tokyo Wheel.
One month later , Adam and his staff have not returned my emails and the phone number listed goes to an automatic busy signal. Be advised...stay away...the promises are empty.
Charles
The carbon was mis-shaped on the rear wheel. This caused the rear brake to rub...and no way to remedy the problem. Tokyo Wheel will not respond to my emails for an exchange/refund. I am still in the 65 day ride warranty.
Claudiu T.
Good looking wheels, but too heavy for serious climbing. Also, the quick release skewers provided are useless, they do not have enough power to keep wheels locked, ended up using 3rd party ones. Terrible in cross-winds. got almost knocked off more than a few times.

I ordered a set of wheels in 2022 and they never sent them. They kept telling me it was because they were relocating the factory but in the end it was all a scam. I never got the wheels or my money back. STAY AWAY!
John B.
These are my second set, first set I put about 30,000 miles on. Wheels are stiff and fast but comfortable to ride on. My only negative comment, it was very, very difficult to get the tires on, more difficult than any other set of wheels including my first set of Epics.
John
Impossible to instal / uninstall tire.
Hikaru O.
Buying it from Japan, it’ll take about a month from order to your house. It’s good enough for riding on high speeds and it’s doing well so far. To everyone who’s viewing this comment, if you order make sure you bring the wheels to your local bike shop to tune the sporks to make it even cuz when mine came it was all random. And for the stickers on the wheels, they’ll peel off a bit or some parts of the tip will try to come off. But nothing’s gone wrong so far and I like it.

Great Wheel - ありがとうございました!

Great Wheel - As soon as I put this wheel on my bike I felt the difference that carbon makes. With the lighter wheel, my bike feels quicker and easier to get up to speed from stopped. On longer straights, the aerodynamics kick in and I can keep a higher top speed easier. Overall this is a great wheel.
Mike Reynos
Super stiff and superfast... - These wheels must be the most bang for the buck. I am so pleased with them in every aspect !

Brilliant - Ok so these are my first set of deep section wheels and I didn't really know what to expect but all I can say is WOW. I weigh 90kg and they dont even seem to flex.
I was told that with all deep section wheels they require a bit more effort to get up to speed and this is true but it doen't seem like much extra. What I wasn't ready for is just how much easier holding speed is, on a stretch of road where I would normally be doing about 36-38km/h I looked down to see 45km/h and felt like I was putting in less effort.
Definitely glad I purchased these wheels.

AWESOME! - I received my wheel about a week and a half ago and I just want to say it is GORGEOUS! It was easy to install and it's super lightweight. I really appreciate the level of detail and care you guys put into this wheel. Thanks so much and take care.

Great Wheelset and Excellent Service - Ordered a Rear Fixed Gear wheel. Prompt delivery, and couldn't be more satisfied with the product.
Great buying experience. Will definitely consider repeat purchase.

Nice looking wheel - Although the packaging of the wheel was basic, it came as described in great shape. Nice looking wheel, have only ridden on them a few times but it has handled the roads well. I feel a lot less drag than I have in the past after starting a new year on the roads.

Great wheels for the money. - Bought the wheelset in mid summer, exceeded expectations. ridden daily in center city philladelphia, handles pot holes, drains, man hole covers and still performs. great wheels for the money.

Great customer service. - Received the wheels within a business week of order placement. Experienced a small problem and worked with customer service to resolve it. Very happy with customer service. Process could not have been easier. Now I just need to get back into riding shape to ride as well as the wheels perform and look good. What I'm riding: Cervelo S2 with Tokyowheel-50mm deep, 25mm wide, DT Swiss hubs, Sapm Cx-Ray spokes. Jeffrey

Lovely looking wheels - Wrong Hub! - Ordered Epic Clinchers which were received in good time. Out of the box they look good and feel light. Excited about putting on my spare Campag cogs only to discover I've been sent Shimano 10 speed hubs rather than Campag 11 speed ordered. We'll see how I go getting this fixed.

Badass wheels - Ordered and came in really fast.... Very happy with rim, looks sick and very strong...
Asmund Nystad
Very Cool - The ride is really smooth and they just seem to slice through the air whilst making a really stealthy and sort of evil noise - very cool.

Don't hesitate, buy now! - Not only was this a brilliant deal but the wheels is awesome! I will be using it for elites this race season but I done a few test runs with it....hubs is super smooth, amazingly stiff with no flex on, wheels is very light and overall impression was very good especially since it comes with QR Skewers and brake pads.. I will definitely recommend this product. Shipping was also amazingly fast and it arrived at the destination within 5 days, well done Tokyowheel! I will order loads of things from you in future. I can't wait for race season!

Thank you Tokyowheel ! - Arigato. Great experience. Looking forward to the next product line!

Best Cost Performance - 38mm rim is best balance for straight-specification and aero-dynamics .
Negatively on neither side.
rigid substance rim.
DT240s hub is modestly smooth.

Nice wheelset - I have received this wheelset by very fast shipment. The first look is very nice wheelset and good finishing. Can't wait to try them soon. Thanks
Jeradej T.
Nice look, good finishing product - I still got less chance to ride this wheelset anyway a good looking wheelset at very reasonable price.

Elite 60 - Some crack was find on the wheel, the hub was not very good condition, maybe next time I”ll not use ceramic hab, I don't want to return cause I'm busy and the failed is not important。

Great and value wheels
- Stiffer Zipp 404 and look good

The wheels are phenomenal - The wheels are phenomenal - solidly true, resistant to all the imperfections of the roads I ride (some of which are pretty bad - potholes, cracks, etc.) without a single problem. My bike is nearly effortless since I put the new wheels on. I'm totally and completely satisfied with them and your exemplary service.
Piyavit K.
good Wheel for road and Hill - I compare with Zipp 404. this wheel have better Aero and more Stiff than Zipp 404. And better value of money.

Epic 88 Carbon Clinchers - Great wheelset, light, responsive, stable and comfortable on varied road surfaces. Another addition to my race day gear.

EPIC 38-50 - Fantatstic set of wheels and great looking! Promise I will do a review after 6 months and let you all know how well they have lasted. So far, really fast, great looking set of clinchers!

Tokyo wheels - I'm very happy with my tokyowheels Epic 50's. Excellent set of wheels. They are light and fast. They cut thru the wind with ease and with no pushing around. Thank you James for guiding and for answering all my questions.
David B.
Tokyo Epic Wheels - I have had the wheels for around 1 week now and have put about 400km into them. The first ride was unintentionally in the rain and the braking performance of the rims was exceptional! As good as aluminium clinkers which really surprised me.
In subsequent rides I have found the wheels to be stiff in accelerations and hill climbs, light enough for long climbs and exceptional rollers - in fact I felt I was on the brakes or not pedalling whilst in the pace line.
These have really surprised me with their braking performance and overall ride performance. So far a great set of wheels. Would be happy to post again after 6 months to comment on their longevity.

Smooth ride - Happy to recommend these wheels. Smooth ride and my average speed increased on my training route.

TokyoWheel Epic 88 clincher - I bought this set of wheels to be my race set in Triathlon. Tokyowheel was new company and there product looked interesting so I bought one. This wheel set is amazing. Overall quality is top notch. I have one with ceramic bearings and they roll well. My earlier wheel set was ZIPP 808/1080 and performance is equal to them. These wheels are great buck for money. I highly recommend them.
ALFREDO
Very happy with my new set of EPIC 50 - Just got them and I'm very happy with the performance of this set of wheels. They are light and fast. took then for a ride in a very windy road and "boy" these wheels just cut thru the wind like a knife going thru butter. Even with the wind I was able to maintain my speed. Didn't spent much energy and I rode faster. Breaking is excellent. Thank you James for answering all my questions. I will recommend these wheels to anyone who is looking to upgrade to carbon fiber wheels.

Negative drag - I would give these wheels my highest recommendation. I have previously raced on Zipp 404s, and these wheels are noticeably better at braking and cornering. The deep rims are fantastic aerodynamically, and were manageable in a criterium with a 30 mph crosswind.andproblem problem even when
Joseph B.
sweet - The wheel is as nice as can be...I bought an Epic 35, with upgraded spokes and hub. The bearings are butter smooth and the wheel spins forever, now for the durability test.

My-Elite-60 - Jan26,2014 I have collected the wheel set on Jan26,2014 morning and now it is in progress to glue tires at bicycle shop. I going to use Vittoria Corsa EVO II 23C tubular, I used it before and feeling good so I to choose this model again. Refer to the wheel set, honestly I give it 90 marks of 100. The deduction most are calculate on rim finishing. I want TokyoWheel go forward so I don't want just say it is good, it is okay and thank you...I want to provide more specific information. My opinions as below: 1) The packing is good, I like it. Just compare with my friend purchased Easton EC90 Aero 55 Tubular 2 days ago, your packing is good and personally I like yours little bit more because it is carry-able. The box not too big! Easton is too big and hard to carrying it to home. (I'm 6 feet tall) 2) Opened box, the protector seems better than Easton, you are using bubble bag to protect wheels and Easton just using normal clear plastic bag. I saw the miscellaneous are packed into separate bag and collected into one big bag, and this big bag had fixed by rubber tape on the top in order to avoid scratch on wheels. It is good and enough protection. However, refer to Easton, they using same bags but make a small slot in the box to store miscellaneous. The outcome are same, protect scratching, but for a general customer the out look is Easton better. 3) A simple user guide including in Easton package. This user guide is useless for me because it just introduce how to release the "Quick Release" and need using carbon only brake pads, but it can increase company image because popular and international company are willing to insert a simple user guide with their company logo. In the front it is a user guide but behind it is a advertise. So, if you consider to insert a simple user guide that must be aware on the quality of printing and paper material. I like all of those are start from your or customer mental because it let me feel respected and feel the heart of company. For this, Apple is doing the best in the World in my own opinion. 4) The rims is good but I can see some defect on the edge near by braking surface and tire mount but that just very little and will cover by tire. The other is between braking surface and rim body. I know that should make by two pice carbon but the joining is not smooth enough. Overall the junction finishing not smooth. In this part the Easton and Zipp 404 are doing better. If compare with Zipp 60 (Alloy and carbon rim and only focus on carbon part) that yours is better. I owned an Equinox 38mm full carbon tubular wheel set before. It seems added a flat coating on the rim but keep carbon pattern outlook, the rim look more integration and junction almost disappear. Thus the rim outlook is very good! 5) The stickers are good! They are on right position and colour are matched with your web site. It is unexpected because colour is will differ from web site in my experience. 6) The rim body seem same as your website. I mean the 26.5mm max wide picture. The rim design is one of my concerning point of which wheel I will buy. I have compared yours and other popular brands, such as Mavic, Zipp, FFWD, Bontrager, Easton, DT Swiss and Compagnolo. I like the design like yours and compare with the retail price I choose your Elite 60 finally. I know your rim is made in China and raw material are come from japan, but the "China" is the point I concerned. I worried they didn't make the rim same as your request. Now, it is no worry! 7) Front hub seems not smooth enough, I can feel a little click in every circle. Currently I only rotate it by hand. It not like dust inside the bearing or ball scratched. I hope it is due to not run-in and I will check after installed on my bicycle. (Not count on marks deduction ^.^) 8) The valve extensions not fit my air pump. I don't know why and I confirm my pump is compatible with presta and schrader valve. Anyway, I need to change it because Vittoria tubular need extension compatible with replaceable valve core so I bought Continental 40mm extension. ( http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/category/accessories/product/review-continental-valve-extensions-12-46612/ ) 9) Brake pads. I have bought 2 set new SwissStop Yellow King FlashPro. It is for safety and I believe this pads can provide maximum brake power when I need. Also this is the Easton wheel standard package. Since many rider love to use SwissPro Yellow King brake pads and your company also recommend this pads, I'll suggest you change it to your standard package even increase the wheel price. I and my friend are agree if a wheel set come with SwissStop Yellow King brake pad will increase company image and increase the trust on the product. ******************************Mar10,2014*********************************** After few months using with you Tokyo Wheel Elite 60 wheel set, I discover something want to share. I'm not a professional racer, thus my comment is only the feel on riding, I cannot provide any statistic to make it more easy to measurement. My bicycle configuration as below: Frame: Scott Foil Team Issue 2014 Seat-post: Ritchey WSC carbon Stem: Ritchey WSC Carbon Matrix 4-AXIS Handle Bar: Zipp VukaSprint Saddle: Specialized Romin Expert Shifter: SRAM Rival Brake: SRAM Force Crankset: SRAM Force (53/39) Cassette: SRAM 1070 (11-23) F Derailleur: SRAM Force R Derailleur: SRAM Force Chain: SRAM 1091R BB: Enduro XD-15 Peddles: Look Keo Blade Tires: Vittoria Corsa EVO-II 23C tubular with 160psi Pressure (Max 200psi) Wheel Set: TokyoWheel Elite 60 (DT 240s hubs, Sapim CX-Ray spokes) Unboxing video of Elite 60: http://youtu.be/_13P8b8xZgc I cycled with Elite 60 for around 211km and I hadn't climb mountain, it is time to say my finding on this wheel set. Almost every time I cycle with two other bikes and they are using brand new wheel sets, Easton EC90 Aero 55 and Campy Bora One. Thus My opinions are compared with these two wheel sets. The Tokyo Wheel Elite 60 reliability is good, rigidity of spokes and rim are good. The acceleration is pretty good and will not feel drag. The front and rear DT 240s hubs are smooth and unhindered, they lead my bike running fast. The 60mm deep rim provide continuous rolling force to keep speed when over 30km/h. When I face to side wind the rolling force will lead me go straight and the wind will not affect my control on front wheel. I think it is benefit by the extra wide rim design. Also I discovered no noise from spokes when accelerating in corner with higher than 20km/h and this happening on my previous Enquix 38mm full carbon wheel set. When riding on bumpy road I can feel road signal directly from wheels but I can feel more harder on Bora One. I don't know that mean Bora One is better then Elite 60 whether or not. In the first ride I used the origin brake pads including wheel set package. The braking force is enough and very silent. I found the rim brake surface has some marking cause by brake pads. I thought it may be some dirt on brake pads or it is not very good brake pads so I changed all to SwissStop Yellow King FlashPRO bake pads. However I still continuing find some marking on brake surface. I can use bicycle cleaner to clean them but I really don't like these marking on the rim. I still cannot found any method to avoid it happen again. This will not happen on the other two wheel sets. On the other hand, I found the brake surface is look like glossy after cycled over 200km. Overall I'm recommend this wheel set because it has lower price but providing enough rigidity, reliability, handling and good out look. On the other hand, I have make a little modify on the rear DT 240S hub on few weeks before. That is replaced the ratchet from origin 18 steps to 54 steps. This made my power can transfer to the wheel instantly and create special sound on hub rolling. For this can check with my video on YouTube: http://youtu.be/vylctRk7bII

Epic 50 carbon Clinchers - These wheels are great, they roll smooth, I got the ceramic bearings hub. Braking feels just as good as aluminum wheels. No flex when spiriting and workman ship is very good. When it comes to customer service James is the Best, friendly and helpful responded to all my questions. i will definitely buy another set.
ryan
THE MOST AMAZING WHEELSET!!!! - ive had these wheels for a few weeks now and let me start off by telling you just how incredible these wheels really are. FAST they just want to roll and keep on rolling. i got the ceramic bearings with this wheelset and im very very impressed! they are stiff with absolutely no flex as im a big rider of 6,1" and 195 lbs . the thing im rally just blown away with is the braking. i mean this is the first carbon wheelset that actually has braking like a aluminum brake track but its carbon these suckers actually grab!! as well the wide rim design is very helpful with wind and i believe it aids with making them stronger. if more people only new just how amazing these wheels were they wouldn't waste there money on other so called top shelf name wheel sets like ive done in the past. i want to thank james and everyone at tokyo wheel for what i believe is thee best bike upgrade ive gotten in a very long time .
Ricardo L.
First ride on the 50's - Wheels rode exceptionally well. I feel the Continental GT size 25 tire made it feel heavy, but comfy on the bumpy roads. My only qualm was the soft quick release. Its lightweight...but too soft to hold the wheel firmly. I will try my other quick release tomorrow to see the difference. Thanks for a great wheel! Looking forward to your carbon clincher disc.
Angus H.
As good as Zipps - I tested mine out with 23mm Vittoria Corsa CX tubulars on my time trial bike and I did a PB by 25 seconds over an 18km course. They feel very rigid yet smooth and really sing along even on the rough surfaces. They are every bit as good as my Zipps that I had and i didnt get moved around by the cross winds which says a lot as I only weigh 60kgs.

Elite 38-50 - Carbon Tubular - Wheelset - High quality wheels and great service!
Hugo K.
Cycling Enthusiast - I purchased a set of the 38mm wheels & have been super impressed with how well they ride & good they feel on the rode. the service i received was terrific & they lived up to what they said. i would highly recommend these wheels to anybody.
Dan C.
Fantastic customer service! - If i could give 6 stars for customer service, i would! James was always prepared to answer my emails & get back to me within the same day.
I 've ridden 2 time trials on my Elite 60-88 wheels & they have proven to be extremely fast yet surprisingly forgiving on rougher roads. The wider rims definitely give a better ride without compromising their aero capabilities. The only thing i'm unsure of is how durable they will prove to be in the long run (compared with known brands)...only time will tell!
Alan T.
Professional service and product - Just purchased Epic 50 carbon clincher wheelset with upgrade 240's and Sapim. Corespondence from James was excellent adding that personal touch and I think he really cares about customers being satisfied and happy with their purchase. Haven't ridden on them yet but quality looks great had to adjust brake calipers out to allow for wider rims but no issue. The price factor came into play with me feeling buyers get ripped off especially in my country for bicycle performance parts and Tokyo wheels price tag was very appealing plus free shipping and no import tax. You can't beat that.
Steven C.
The highest quality customer service around - James at Tokyowheel is running a first class business here. I had nothing but the best experience dealing with James and his team. I'd happily recommend them to any of my riding friends.
George M
mean wheels - I was looking for a new set of wheels and for me the Epic 38-50 was the way to go. I did some homework before making my decision. These wheels are bang for the buck!
Just as soon as I put them on I felt a different ride. I have improved on hills and consisatncy. If you are looking for and upgrade this is the way to go. Thanks James for your help.
Thomas H.
Thomas Harstad - very happy with my 50mm epic wheels, 240 DT swiss. Together with Veloflex tires, I have upgraded my speed noticably. Wheels are very true, still after 1000 miles ridden.
Thomas G.
All in all a great product and great customer service! - Received my wheels only week after ordering them, and the customs fee I had to pay to have them handed over by DHL was reimbursed by tokyowheel the next day, no questions asked.
I find the wheels really easy to ride, my average speed has increased significantly, and breaking is just as good as with my old non-carbon wheels (although slightly poorer when very wet). Also, they look great, and have been complimented by lots of people :-) I also love the way they sound when spinning as well as when shifting gears.
I have had two encounters afterwards with customer service, and both times have been surprisingly positive - service has been much better than expected!
My next set of wheels will be from tokyowheels again, no doubt about that!
Steve Collins
Wow - Wow... I received my wheels tonight, installed the cassette and new pads and without even taken them for a spin yet, I have to say I'm impressed. The build quality and finish are outstanding, plus they're great looking. I'm looking forward to my first ride.
Lerios P.
Best wheel i ever used! - I use zipp 808 and zipp 900 before i change to tokyowheel elite 60 and 88, its fast rolling, lightweight, smooth hub, stiff and low pricetag!
Anderson
Great wheelset Epic 38-50 - I´m very glad with my wheelset epic 38-50 with vapor hub - Sapin spokes and niples.
Vapor Hub is excellent, when you spin the wheel it never stop.
My speed increase about 2.2 km/h and I try many times to comprove in the same trip.
Corey M.
Owner Coates Cyclery - Great Wheels Even Better Value.

Daniel G.
Great looking wheels! Very light - Great looking wheels! Very light and handle extremely well. Will recommend them to all my friends.
Tony H.
Sharp looking wheels - Received new 88 Elites, they look very good, arrived in approx 3 weeks which I thought was pretty good to NZL, no freight damage which is always a relief. Haven't used yet, going into winter and haven't got a cassette on yet.
Richard M.
Way better than blue - not as grabby and my bike no longer smells like it is about to catch fire.
lesley
wheel graphic color: NAKED CARBON? - Would be awesome to see a naked 12k carbon fiber wheel decal set! And on another not if I want to customize my order of decals by receiving a set of 8 decals In multiple colors instead of one. Like red & white or Any other combination. Thanks for your time.
Carey P.
Great Wheelset - I've had the wheel set for a couple of weeks now and they work great. The hubs are very smooth and the wheels roll great. I am really surprised at how good the breaking is: no issues at all with the supplied brake pads.
Kian H.
Awesome wheelset - I have been trying the wheels (38-50 elite) for about slightly more than a month now. Clocked abt 300km, tried both uphills n flats. I have to say the wheels especially dt swiss 240s hubs performed as good as my ex ck n mavic. The carbon wheels received were as light as stated. Even when cassette n tyres were mounted, it weigh just as good.
As for the rides, very comfortable for a tubular wheelset. Up to my expectation so far and the decals were matching. ( I selected the silver mirror decals n its eye catching)
However, why this wheelset didn't get 5 stars since its so good? The reason being, when I 1st received, I inspected the groove where the tubular tyres are suppose to be mounted) is a little imperfect. It looks and feels more plastic than carbon. But once the tyres are mounted, i can't tell anymore.
Oh yes, the dt swiss hubs are the lastest ratchet 36t already. This is a plus point to note.
By and large, this wheelset performed well and worth the money. Recommended
Jonathan H.
Rocked it on the bike with these wheels in Ironman 70.3 St. George!!! - I received these wheels and had them mounted only a few weeks ago. Got a few good training rides in on them and then rode them on the Ironman 70.3 St. George course. Got lots of great compliments and people had never heard of these before. When I mentioned the price, their ears perked up! I purchased mine with the DT Swiss hubs and together with these wheels it's like heaven! The climb up Snow Canyon was great and flying down the hills in aero was so smooth and fast!! I'm looking forward to many more long rides with these and may get another set for my road bike as well.
Hong m.
It's a great carbon Tubular wheelset - Nice design, good hub
Brais
Track wheels - I'm very unhappy beacause they don't have track wheels in stock. I hope track wheelsets are avaliable in the future.
