I’ll start with the bad. I ordered my 5.6 disc wheels in February and got stuck waiting for ages. Global pandemic, shipping from Asia was a mess. On to the good, tubeless setup is a breeze! I mean easy. No tricks needed, I think that shows these wheels are made with tight tolerances. Weight on these was ~1 gram less than expected. I also have a set of Tokyowheels 60mm tubulars which were perfect until I got a disc brake race bike. So far I’ve been impressed with the 5.6s they are very polite in most wind situations. They lightened the bike a bit over the alloy hoops I’d been on. The look the absolute business.

Extremely happy with this wheelset. Perform great right out of the box. Build quality and finish are spot on. Ride and handling: after the first 500km I had no issues at all, fast rolling, very stable, even with strong cross winds. Ordering and shipping: delivery within 2 weeks after ordering, no issues with taxes. No negatives? Perhaps use stronger adhesive for the decals, these come off relatively easy and the hubs would look even better in matte black, matching the rim. All in all well worth the 5 star rating, thanks Tokyowheel !!

I purchased the Epic 5 6 Disc wheel with DT Swiss 240 hubs and paid less than I would for just the rear hub at my local shop. So built up a new Parlee RZ7 with the wheels on it and all I can say is “WOW” I will not hesitate to promote ToykoWheels they are great products at even greater prices!

Only had 2 rides so far on these wheels, but ohh gee, what rides... My previous wheels where Enve SES 5.6, and the Tokyos are at least as good, at under half the price! This is my third, but not last set of Tokyo Wheels, keep up the good work James & Co.

Hi, I recently purchased a set of Epic 5.6 Disc Clinchers. I must admit I was a little nervous about the stated weight of the wheel set being a little on the heavy side. Others in our group run the Epic 3.4 wheels so I was stepping outside the square a bit, especially as Auckland NZ is quite hilly. My fears have been eliminated. What an awesome set of wheels my riding has been transformed! I am substantially faster on the flats and the big surprise to me is I believe I'm also quicker on the climbs as well. Very pleased with the choice....I think my buddies riding the Epic 3.4 are a little jealous. Customer service post sale has been great. I had an issue with the rear axle not being fully tightened on delivery and the Customer Service team were quick to offer reimbursement to have a local mechanic service it. I can't provide any feedback on the Epic 5.6 Disc Carbon Clincher wheelset that I purchased because, for reasons wholly unrelated to the wheels or Tokyowheel, I had to return them before I even had a chance to take them out of the box. The team at Tokyowheel was very easy to work with on the return, and the shipping to and from Tokyowheel was without a hitch. Once I have my replacement bicycle built out I will be ordering them again and look forward to writing an actual review of the wheels.

Prior to purchasing I read quite a bit on going tubeless and running carbon rims. I am 5'11 185lbs and had some concern over the rims durability. So far so good, plus I purchased the extended warranty. I have already picked up approx. 2mph in average speed with the 5.6 rim set. I am a believer now.
