I am using this as a front-wheel on my TT bike. It is a fast wheel for time trialling, the braking is much better than the carbon wheel it has replaced. I have had no difficulty controlling this wheel in a recent windy TT so am happy with the shape in crosswinds.
The valve extender provided is not great, I have replaced it with my preferred extender for just a small outlay.
I would recommend this wheel for TT's or triathlons.

Hi Malcolm. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences. Sounds like your cycling is going well. Hope the valve extender issue wasn't too much trouble. Ride safe.

I was a bit disappointed that "tubeless ready wheels" did not come with tubeless tapes, like my previous ones. Also the valve extenders that came with them were not tubeless ready. It took extra time and extra expenses to make them tubeless.
Tokyowheel™
Hi Ehsan. Sorry to hear you were disappointed we didn't include tubeless accessories. Very few of our customers seem to ride tubeless. The cycling community is slow to change its habits sometimes. If we thought even 20% of riders were going tubeless we would consider including tubeless accessories, but the number is probably closer to 5%. Hope this makes sense. Send us an email if you have any questions. Thanks.

This is by far the wheelset with the best quality/price ratio on the market: beautifully finished, nice "U" section rimms, very tolerant to cross winds, smooth spinning (ceramic bearings) and incredibly stiff. Stickers are a bit odd but it's just cosmetic.
For racing, my recommendation is to install 23cm wide tyres as they fit better on the 25cm rimm. The interface between rimm and tyre becomes quite smoother, improving aerodynamics.

Cons:
1- Time to be produced

Thanks for taking the time to comment Renato. Regarding your comment on production time it does look like we did not meet the normal 2 - 3 week target but it appears there was some complication with working through the CPF process and Brazilian customs. We have learned from this experience however. Appreciate your insight and look forward to hearing about some great results for you in 2018.

The price is right and the quality is great. Just completed my first ironman 70.3 and this was my first hit out with the Tokyowheels I purchased. I can say with absolute confidence that these wheels are as good as major wheel brand ZIPP which I hired for my first Triathalon which was an Olympic distance race. I have only been involved in tris and riding for 12 months and with the7.10s I was able to comfortably maintain 32.4kph average for the 90km bike leg on a Blowy, Hilly course (Cairns ,Australia). I look forward to riding my next race with my 7.10s which will be an Olympic distance. Hopefully I'll improve on my average speed with the bike course being flat. I do regret getting black "EPIC" decals instead of white ones. Love em
Tokyowheel™
Hi Peter. Thanks for the kind words! Negative feedback is good for product development but positive feedback is good for the soul! Good to hear your race went well and you're enjoying the 7.10s. Sounds like a tough event. If you're not the shy type, send us some pics and we'll publish them on the site. Best of luck with your upcoming race. Cheers Peter!

So far everything has been good. Only issue I had was the shipping g tracking &. Feedback. Main reason is due to tokyowheel not being a name brand & price was " too good to be true", so I had my concerns if this was a scam, and I was pretty concerned until I received really accurate Usa tracking information. Obviously you are legit, it was a bit stressful though

Hi Tony. Thanks for taking the time to review. EMS tracking is usually ok, but can be a little patchy at times. Hope this didn't give you too much of a flutter! Awesome that you're up and riding now, and happy with your purchase. Let us know if you need anything. Cheers!

The background: I'm a good age group triathlete with a top-class bike (Cervelo P5 Six, Lightweight Autobahn wheelset, Ceramicspeed bearings throughout and the oversized jockeywheels, Dura Ace Di2, the works) but I needed an alternative set of wheels for training and racing where the disc wasn't appropriate. Didn't want to spend a fortune but the wheels had to be fast, aero, reliable and strong. I bought the Epic 7.10 rims on DT Swiss 240s hubs. With the right tyres these wheels are quick on the flat. Climbing and hard acceleration is harder going than what I'm used to because of the rather heavy rims (but then I'm used to Lightweights!) and strangely I've found them less predictable in the wind then my disc/deep section Lightweight combination. But they are not flexy when cornering, forgiving yet rigid on the straights and very comfortable to ride. And very good value. Would have preferred tubular wheels but I'm happy enough because of the flexibility afforded by the greater range of clincher tyres available on the market over tubs.
Tokyowheel™

On a positive note the wheels look amazing and the side wind doesn't effect them as bad as I thought it would!

Thanks for your assessment and sorry you are not a fan of the bearings. On our standard hubs we use high quality steel bearings that historically have worn very well. As you mentioned we do have a ceramic upgrade available. Safe riding to you.
